BHS Hampshire is bringing bitting expert Hilary Vernon to us on Saturday 18 April 2015. Hilary will be giving a talk on bits and bitting in the morning, followed by three sessions working with owners bitting individual horses to find a bit that best suits them. At lunchtime, the talk will be repeated, followed by another three bitting sessions. All sessions are open to spectators and Hilary will be discussing the bits she tries and the effects on the individual horses with the audience as she works.
BHS representatives will be on hand during the day to discuss the charity’s work in welfare, access, safety and education, and there will be a free gift for anyone joining the BHS on the day*.
Admission for spectators to the clinic is free and booking is not necessary. Times will be published here shortly but we expect to run from around 9.30am to 5.30pm. The shop will be open 9am to 5pm. If you’d like one of the six places to bring a horse along and have a personal bitting session with Hilary, the cost is £65 and the session will last around an hour.
