The Shires Velociti GARA Leather Coupling is designed to attach to both bit rings to allow even control when using a single lead rein. It is predominantly used in lead-rein showing classes, first-ridden pony events, and for in-hand stallion presentation where a neat, traditional aesthetic is essential.
Standard Leather Coupling (2-Way): Features a straight strap of leather with a buckle at each end that connects strictly to the left and right bit rings. The lead rein attaches to the central brass ring. This prevents the bit from sliding sideways through the mouth when steered.
Sizing: Universal One Size (The standard model has a total length of 34 cm).
Before use: Apply Neatsfoot oil to the leather with a brush or sponge and leave to dry, repeat until the leather is supple and soft. Maintenance: Remove all dirt with a damp sponge, then treat the leather with leather soft soap. Allow damp leather to dry naturally away from a heat source and treat once dry. Regularly check for signs of stress & the stitching, replace if necessary. Do not use excessive amounts of oil.
