The Hanging mouth jointed snaffle is also sometimes referred to as a half cheek snaffle of filet baucher bit.
One of the 'stronger' dressage legal bits, the hanging cheek snaffle has jointed mouthpiece that acts like a nutcracker on the bars, and will often contact with the horses palate.
A single joint gives a nutcracker action.
The Hanging Cheek uses pressure on the poll as the cheek piece has an extra ring above the snaffle ring where the bridle cheek pieces are attached to, this pressure encourages the horse for more flexion and softness at the poll.
Mouthpiece thickness: 12mm. Cheek height: 110mm.
