The JHL Copper Roller D-Ring Snaffle Bit is designed to provide mild-to-intermediate control for horses that tend to lean, grab the bit, or become heavy in the rider's hands.
Key Specifications:
- Premium stainless steel cheeks with alternating stainless steel and copper rollers.
- Mouthpiece thickness: 14mm. Cheek height: 65mm.
How it Works:
- Alternating Copper Rollers: The rollers spin independently, giving high-energy or anxious horses an outlet to play with the bit rather than grabbing it.
- Salivation and Softness: Copper naturally oxidises and warms up in the horse's mouth. This action stimulates salivation, relaxes the jaw, and promotes a softer, more responsive contact.
- D-Ring Lateral Support: The fixed D-shaped rings lie flat against the horse's cheeks. They provide positive directional pressure during turns to aid steering while prevent pinching at the corners of the lips.
- Nutcracker Action: The single-jointed design creates pressure on the tongue, bars, and the roof of the mouth, which gently encourages horses that run on their forehand to raise their heads.
Note: Due to the moving parts on the mouthpiece, copper roller bits are generally not legal for Dressage competitions under British Dressage (BD) rules.
