Cats that have regular outdoor activates need less frequent nail clipping than those kept in the house. There are two types of clippers available: a guillotine action, and a scissor action clipper. With either types, be very careful not to cut the "quick" in the nail or claw, which is the blood vessel in the centre of the nail. If this is accidentally cut it is painful and could result in bleeding and possible infection.
A Guide to Grooming leaflet enclosed gives a basic advice and tips on grooming.
Note: Some discolouration to scissor handle.
